Stars = the species-tuned Best Days rating (season & water temp lead it). AM = dawn to late morning, PM = midday to evening. The forecast is pulled at your destination, not the harbor mouth. Ride chips grade each window against your hull.
Know your limits. Ride ratings are planning guidance computed from a point forecast at your destination and the boat you describe. Wind grading follows NOAA's Small Craft Advisory bands for SoCal ocean waters (roughly 20 kn and up), but seas still run bigger around points and island ends, wind arrives early some days, and fog can close in fast. Check the official NOAA marine forecast and active advisories before you leave the dock, file a float plan, and trust your own eyes over any model. When in doubt, don't go out.
